Privacy

Without signing in

• Your chat history, watchlist, portfolio, price alerts, smart lists and language choice stay in your browser. We do not receive them.
• To apply usage limits, the server keeps a random id in a cookie (th_client) and sees your IP address. Server logs record timings and counts, never the text of your questions or the answers.

Your questions

Each question, with the earlier messages of that chat, is sent to an AI model to write the answer, and the market data it needs is fetched from a market data service. Do not put personal or account details in a question.

A portfolio screenshot you import is scaled down in your browser, which also removes its photo details (location, device), then sent once to an AI model to read the tickers, shares and prices paid. It is not stored or logged. Crop out your name and account number before importing if they are on the screen.

If you sign in with Google

• Google gives us your name, email address, profile picture link and Google account id. We ask for nothing else.
• We store them with your chat history and saved settings (watchlist, portfolio, price alerts, smart lists, briefing language), so you get them on any device and a larger daily question limit.
• The data sits in a database on servers in Singapore (AWS ap-southeast-1). It is used only to run this app. We do not sell it, share it or use it for ads.
• We keep it until you delete it (below).
• Finman's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Deleting your data

Signed in, "Delete my data" in the account menu removes your account and everything stored with it, at once and for good. Signing out alone deletes nothing. Data kept only in your browser goes away when you clear the site's data or use "Clear all history".
